Name the Diablo Clone
#81
Come to think of it...

He drops the 'annihilus'-charm, doesn't he?
So why not call him:

'Lord of Annihilation' or sth. like that. After all, Diablo, who is his clone or his un-mutated form, is the 'Lord of Terror'.
Well - okay. It does seem to overlap with the 'Lord of Destruction', but I think the annihilate should be integratet somehow.
'Annihilating Obliteration' perhaps?

I think I'll stay with 'LoA' for my fourth entry.
Just to keep up the form ;)

I've actually yet to have a chance to meet The clone Diablo (or play Diablo at all since 1.10 went official) but here goes.

1: "Save and Exit" Cause that's what some do
2: "The Greater D" He is the greater Diablo
3: "The master of disaster" It sucks, shut up :P
4: "Heaven's Bane" Inspiration from Ilsidur's Bane
5: "Big Daddy Diablo" Who's your Daddy?

Maybe I'll think of something else later ...
At first I thought, "Mind control satellites? No way!" But now I can't remember how we lived without them.

4pm PST Dec. 27, my first entry:

1. Nasty Diablo

as in Blizzard's Holiday song: Blizzard's ftp server .zip file (fyi it's ~2.5 meg)

I loved some of the entries but didn't see this one, which makes a lot of sense (having just seen him/killed him for the first time last night) and has precedent (not to mention its own song already, and psuedo-sanction by Blizzard).

edit: here are the credits that come with it, and a lyrics transcription I found that seems close...

Nasty Diablo by Blizzard Entertainment
Music: Frosty the Snowman
Arrangement: Matt Uelmen
Lyrics: Bill Roper
Engineering: Scott Petersen
Vocals: Diablo and the Fallen Underworld Choir

Nasty Diablo!
Has a dark and brooding soul.
With a dire plan and a hate for man,
Domination is my goal.

Nasty Diablo!
Is a fairy tale they say.
With a brimstone smell I was up from hell
To claim the world one day.

There must have been some magic in that old soulstone they found...
For when they placed it in my head I was trapped far underground!

Nasty Diablo!
Hidden for a thousand years.
The horadrim say I'll return one day
preying on your mortal fears.

Nasty Diablo!
Was released and headed east.
For I sought to find two more of my kind,
so the three could be unleashed.

He led them through the streets of town and right down into hell.
We only paused a moment when we battled Tyrael!

Nasty Diablo!
Made a final stand that day!
But I waved goodbye saying "Don't you cry"
I'll be back again someday!!!!!!!

Jim, named after the black knight in Diablo's chamber in classic Diablo. (made famous by Jarulf in this post).

There's no mention of Jim anywhere in the linked post.

Sorry, Jarulf's post made him famous, but didn't name him Jim. If I recall correctly, it was Charis who started calling him Jim, and I think, at least at that time, that name was widespread. It may have been limited to the variant community, though.

These types of decisions require careful consideration and delegation on the part of the mods. :P

We don't have the final tally yet.

I'd lock the thread, except that people can still go on and suggest stuff, they just can't win.

Would the "world event" then be Pete not getting his morning coffee? :D

With being nothing.

I think that world event would be a 1337-loser bragging about a D2 cheat site he built all by himself with Geocities and posting his accomplishment on the General forum.

(I'd type in 1337-speek, but my brain can't handle it. )
UPDATE: Spamblaster.

Sorry, didn't mean to push the mods to make a decision, I was just asking to see if the winner had already been decided, and perhaps someone might have forgotten to post the winner in here. Also, when you post the winner, are you gonna post the winning entry? Cheers.
