The belly rub trap is definitely real.
A welders glove would be handy to have if one attempts the belly rub on an unknown feline.
Our elder cat definitely has three belly modes, 1) mischief, 2) murder, 3) bliss... Which one you get is related directly on how recently you've given her tuna fish.

I love cats, but this is very true. It seems like 9 times out of 10 the belly rub invite has sinister intentions. I've had a few cats that seemed to know their own strength or the sharpness of their fangs, and they would love bite you just enough that you felt it but that it wasn't painful. This is pretty rare though...

A few squirrels taunted him when he's sitting\sleeping near the back porch window. The squirrels did wisely scram away, when our CowCat came out for his outdoor exercise.
