My friend and I nearly gave up the 3rd time we tried fighting him (charged bolt zon and hurricane druid) until I resorted to going to one of mules to grab the only prevent monster heal weapon I could find: Woestave. I'd make sure to poke him every 30 seconds or so with it, and we whittled him down pretty easily after that.
