hi all,
I was wondering if my video card can frie my motherboard. Is it possible?
what if your motherboard can only accept 2x agp slot and your video card is a 4x/8x. Can you bust your MB?

Well, I've managed to fry my motherboard with a stick of RAM (heh), so it seems like it would be possible to do so with other components as well.
Before jumping to replace your motherboard, though, you might want to try swapping out some components to see if that makes a difference. Also, listen for any beep code when you turn your computer on.
Why can't we all just get along

My guess would be that if it's the wrong card type you'd get the no video card present startup error and the machine won't turn on.
Although it is within the realm of possibilty since 2x, 4x and 8x all use different voltages (unless the memory in my head fried my brain and I'm remembering that wrong).

Yes. Anything can fry anything in a computer, for the most part. But I'd not think it a likely suspect.

No. Your motherboard will simply refuse to work with the card. Either that, or it will run it at 2x AGP, if the card can support it.
