Did I ever mention that I hate cops?

Quote:*sniffs* Hmm, have to admit, smells somewhat odd. No obvious links/scams but a double misspelled "introduction" post with nothing to add to the current thread discussion? May want to keep an eye on this one, but if you are a new member, it may be a good idea to read the forum rules/guidelines and lurk around a bit to get a feel for things.
Well I think his last 13, and counting, posts pretty much guarantee he's a spammer.

Kinda fun to watch, though. Sort of like a zombie inciting panic as he shuffles along a crowded street.
Political Correctness is the idea that you can foster tolerance in a diverse world through the intolerance of anything that strays from a clinical standard.

A person can do some pretty amazing things during an adrenaline rush. Sure, six others of equal or larger build can restrain such a person, but the damage involved might be much more extensive than that from a taser.

The guy did not sound as though he was about to go medieval on them. Also, there's a difference between force and excessive force. Tazering once - maybe. Twice - umm, I suppose it is not completely rediculous, although... hmm. 6 times with this particular guy? Excessive force. After watching the vid, I have to believe that the cops knew that this guy was not a real serious threat. They just wanted to show him who's boss.

See, I have no problem with this method when it is warranted. If a guy is holding a weapon, tazer him 20 times for all I care. Where was the implied threat to them? Where was a possible hidden weapon? In his ass?
I thought that was reserved for watches?

And you may call me platypus man. I like that more.
So a cop who does XXXX is an anecdote that supports your gross generalization, which you have yet to support with data and trends?

The Nertherlands is too cold for a platypus. ;)

There may be some who need to register their butts as lethal weapons... According to his stories... Doc, perhaps...

Something I wouldn't call unwarranted in that situation, the kid really needed to learn about authority and respect.

I'm not saying that they didn't take it too far, just that the general principle was ok for that specific situation. Probably a lot better than dragging him out back and beating him up for a couple of minutes.

And you don't have to hurt others to be extremely hard to subdue without harm and/or escort out of a building.

All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.

"Isn't this where...."

I ate a dozen deviled eggs, a whole pumpkin pie, a whole sweet tater pie, and entirely to much eggnog.

I have nothing to say except the stories are all true.

I recently moved from the Milano area to Abruzzo but it is only temporarily. Hopefully in summer I can enjoy the fact that my appartment is only 200 meter from the adriatic coast (beach).

To come back to the discussion; Ashok you should check it out here once. If you do something wrong here you just shake hands with the police officer and leave him drinking his coffee and everything is settled.:D

No, you first find the head of a horse in your bed. Than you can still make it up by buying him a new coffee.

But, last time I was there, Rome was an eye opener. It is a bit intimidating to see police officers in body armor and carrying fully automatic weapons.

That body armour was probably a silk/wool blend made by armani, just for the looks.:D

The shooting in NY of a few days ago fits in this thread as well I guess.

I just heard read some small articles in the newspaper. Anybody can tell more about this??
