Question for those who still play NWN I

Since I've been mostly off line as of late, I have gone back to tinkering with NWN I. Unfortunately I have been experiencing some rather nasty graphics glitches including having characters and objects drawn off of the map.(seems to be temperature or time sensitive as it only occurs after about 2-3 hours of total system run time) I was wondering if anybody might have suggestions as to how to fix that?

Also, I have been experiencing corruption of saved games. I can't figure that out at all.

AMD 64x2 4200
2GB DDR 400 RAM
nVidia 7600 GT / 256MB video card
WD raptor 74 MB SATA HDD

DX 9.0c with April 2006 updates
