Experience in party
#1
Ive read the experience explanation on the arreat summit and I am not 100% sure i understand it. The way i read it the following hold true, please correct me:

Both examples below assumes only 2 people in game, and they are in party

2 people in the same named aread within 2 screens:
Experience = X * (n + 1) / 2 , X = base experience, n = number of players.
Then you modify for party Experience = X * 1.35
Then the player A charater gets experience = ( X / (A + B ) ) * A , A = player A's lvl, B = player B's level.
Player B experience = ( X / (A + B ) ) * B

Example 2, 2 people in the samme named area, but not within 2 screens. Player A kills.
Experience = X * (n + 1) / 2 , X = base experience, n = number of players.
Then you modify for party Experience = X * 1.35
Then the player A charater gets experience = ( X / (A + B ) ) * A , A = player A's lvl, B = player B's level.
Player B experience = 0

Is this correct?

EDIT: thanx munkay, didnt notice the smilies, was obviously in too much a hurry.

EDIT 2: I tested a little with my necro yesterday. It looks like example 2 is not correct. The modifier for party member in area is only effective when he also is within 2 screens.

Not an answer, but to help de-confuse:

" B) " = "B )"

Edit: It'd help if I wasn't stupid.

Quote:Then you modify for party Experience = X * 1.35

This part should be X * (1 + .35 * number of other partied players within 2 screens)

or more precisely, X + X * number of other partied players within 2 screens * 89 / 256

X = base xp, N = number of players, Np = number of partied players within 2 screens

Experience to be divided between players = (X * (n + 1) / 2) + ((X * (n + 1) / 2) * Np * 89 / 256 )

Correct?

As I understand it:

0.5 points per player in game

1 point per player in party within same named area

0.5 points per player in party but NOT within named area

Add, and multiply.

Will the game count you as a party of one if you aren't in a party? And, if not does /players 2 actually DO anything OTHER than add a slightly insignificant amount of HP's to the monsters?

Note: Yes, still more than slightly drunk! :D

I have no idea what you are talking about, check my post above for the correct XP formula.

Yes.

Yes, players 2 will add 50% more HP and 50% more xp (as well as incresed drops from monster. )
xp modifier for players 2 = (2+1)/2 = 1,5. Xp modifier for players 1 = (1+1)/2 = 1

Obviously :)
