The next generation "Morrowind"
#1
My brother (who's almost a big a fan of Morrowind as me) gave me the URL to a couple of scanned pictures from what seems like an X-box magazine. I know there are a few good men here who adore this series as much as me, so I thought I'd share the picures with you. Note, however, that the pictures are huge, and will take some time downloading if you're sitting on a dial-up or ISDN-connection. I have a 3mbit line myself, and still they didn't pop up instantaneously.

Although the game is at least 1 year away, the graphics look amazing, and if *they* don't appease you, reading the article sure will. They are planning to improve the two areas of Morrowind which weren't all that good: the size and the combat. Morrowind was fun, but Vvardenfell was *too* big. There was too much conversation. Also, the combat was overly simplistic.

I'm very optimistic about the next incarnation of the Elder Scrolls-series.

You'll have to wait a little bit for any info except what's in the scans of the GameInformer article since there was an exclusivity contract between GI and Bethesda, which is soon to be over. BTW, the scans violate that contract, but since the contract is almost completed, oh well. Pete (the PR rep for Bethesda, not the Pete here) said sometime this week there will be an update of some sort at the official Elder Scrolls site and it will probably be tomorrow because the week's almost up and also, they only ever really do "big" updates to the site on Fridays.

A new Morrowind game sounds nice and all, but it's really all about Falout 3 :) It looks like Bethesda is doing some fantastic work over there.

I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Caio,

Minchia'o

Hi,

Indeed, House is an excellent choice from which to learn English. Especially English (and attitude) as used in this forum.

Good advice.

BTW, guess I was wrong. Knew you'd worked in Italy, didn't know you spoke Italian. Sorry.

No problem, however I don't think this 'guy' was a candidate for a yearslong 'lounge membership', hence my rude answer.
And indeed I see now that the post was removed.
ps.I think Occhi speaks Italian as well.

lol On a side note, I really enjoyed Oblivion but the content was pretty simple compared to Daggerfall and Morrowind. Enjoyable though for sure.

Thread's like a Dread Zombie: it'll spontaneously regenerate health. If you leave it alone for a while, it'll come back at you at full strength.

My current chaarcter has a whole "Ice Queen" theme going, and while traveling on the Blue Road to the Imperial City, she finished off an axe-weilding Redguard bandit with a nifty little spell I named the 'Curse of Skadi' — frost + paralysis. Gives the fleeting impression that the target is momentarily frozen when they get hit.

Trick is, the Bandit remained paralyzed after she was killed. The corpse remained in a running, fighting stance while the battleaxe dropped out of her hands. Oddest thing I've seen of late.
