This latest patch has added a new Horde outpost, Revantusk Village, located on the eastern coastline at the southern end of the beach. I counted 13 new quests. My level 49 mage completed 2 and received a 4400 xp quest reward for each one. There is also an inn and a new flight path for the Horde in The Hinterlands which goes to either The Undercity or Tarren Mill. The flight path can be found at the end of the pier in Revantusk Village. The Hinterlands, formerly a decent place to level has now become a great place to level. The difficulty of the quests will be suitable for players in the mid 40s to low 50s.
I'll give only one specific quest tip. If you are doing any of the Feralas quests which require the killing of Owlbeasts/Wildkin stop at Revantusk Village first to pick up the Owlbeast quest to get extra xp for completion of essentially the same tasks.

Oh, hey, that's why there were those 50's in AP earlier! Yay, people to play with on my way to the Plaguelands!

GREAT experience there. Less than a quarter of the way through level 49, I knocked out a good few of the easy, non-elite quests in a matter of three or four hours, and hit 50 upon turning the last one in.
Gonna get a couple people together and tear down the six elite quests too. :D
For some reason there's a large population of 55+ night elf druids, though. I don't know why. I saw probably five of them in the time I spent there, and nobody else.

We got to both Revantusk and Throium Point tonight just for fun and to pick up flight paths.
How the heck do you get back up to the Hinterlands proper from Revantusk? We got down by taking a monster dive from the waterfall.
Thanks in advance!

There is a path which leads back up the cliff. Just walk along the base of the cliff and you should be able to find it. It is marked at the bottom and top by some masonry.
It is located a bit north of the Revantusk village.

Prize for the first person who can come up with a convincing use for the horde Thorium Point flight paths, because I can't think of one. I dunno if the alliance ones are any better, but as far as I can tell the horde ones save you a 2-3 minute ride at best. :)

To get to Thorium Point, of course! I win! Also, on a PvP server, that pass between the Badlands and Searing Gorge can often get choked up with PvP battles (hopefully, this situation will have improved with the introduction of Battlegrounds), so the flight path gives you a way to circumvent that.

I counter: prize for the first person who can come up with a convincing use for the Searing Gorge key, now that Thorium Point exists for the Alliance.

The nearest flight point to BRM is Morgan's Vigil- which is connected only with Nethergarde keep. So, it's either Thelsamar, or Redridge.

Additionally, If you are doing the quests in Hinterlands to kill Hexx and to rescue the guy on the alter up there, be sure to also have the quest for "The Ancient Egg" from the series that starts with "Screecher Spirits" in Steemwheadle Port from the troll there.

Morgan's Vigil is now also connected with Thorium Point.
In my opinion, TP has made BRM-raids a lot quicker to assemble, since you don't have to wait for or summon latecomers that lack the Searing Gorge key.

There was no good goddamn reason to not have that key. Always irritated me to have someone delay a dozen other people due to their own outright sloth.
I have a guildie who's notorious for that kind of thing. Always late, always demanding summons or special attention while a raid force sits around and whines because of the wait.

Then dont wait for them. Usually the first several pulls in an instance can be done with at least 25% less than the max number of people. Once they miss a drop because they werent punctual, they will start showing up on time.
This actually happened to me the other day. I was helping another couple of guildies on the new Hinterlands quests, when a raid group for BRS was being put together. I told the guildmates organizing the raid 30 minutes. It ended up taking more like 45. At 30 minutes, they headed in to BRS and on the first pull, Valor Bracers dropped, which I still need. I missed the chance to roll on them because I wasnt there at the specified time. My own fault.
I have no sympathy for people that cant show up on time. No one person is needed for the start of any instance, even if they might all be needed later. A Warrior, Druid, Shaman, or Pally can tank the first several pulls in BRS. A Druid, Priest, Pally or Shaman can heal the first several pulls in BRS. Any other classes are just nice to have fluff. Hell, if you dont have a Druid, Pally or Shaman, then you probably have a warlock for a VW or a Hunter for a pet to tank, and failing that, a couple mages alternating the AOE freeze can work wonders. We have even started BRS once without any healer. Mage, warlock, rogue and warrior... just rest between fights, use FA as appropriate.
Again, No one person or class is required for starting an instance.

The problem usually isn't BRS in itself, it's the hostile players in the area. If you don't go in as a group, you risk getting smashed by other BRS raids or MC raids or even have the latecomers getting killed by BRD raiders.
Waiting for someone after they've been killed 2-3 times trying to get into the instance is even more annoying than just waiting for them in Loch Modan (or Thorium Point).

That's one thing about Thorium Point that I'm not crazy about. Any addition that nullifies another aspect of the game... ugh. I've had enough times in Blackrock Mountain where someone has said "Hey, I don't have the key. Could someone come and let me in?"
Sure, it makes it slightly more convenient to get into the Searing Gorge for Alliance characters, but I would have preferred that it didn't scrap the chain to get the key.

Actually, the key was one of the guild 60s functions....our buddies hit about 48 or so, take them out and give them the nickel tour and help them smack the lizard for the key quest. Too bad that's not necessary. I still like to have the key, though. It's handy to have when taking new poeple to TP, for example, so I don't have to go through Badlands or Blackrock to get them there.

Really? I enjoy soloing that lizard. I remember one friend talking about how he had soloed the lizard, then I went and did it by myself as a Rogue. I decided it couldn't be that tough if a near-appropriate level Rogue could do it - that's easily the Dagger Rogue's number one weakness, soloing elites.
Anyway, as Ramala I only keep keys for places that can't be picked :)

Ahh, that makes more sense. You must be on a PvP server. We dont have that same problems on the Normal servers.

It's more the tour of the Gorge and Blackrock Mountain that the escort comes along for...since my 60 is a warrior, I generally only hit the lizard enough to keep aggro, and let the guildie do the work.
