SR: Avarice!

Nobody posted it here yet? :o

Be advised that the Stormrage chapter of The Basin has finally agreed to join forces on an official basis with SR-Lurkers and Carpe Aurum! While this is primarily a raiding alliance, Basin officers will also be encouraging their members to join us in the Avarice channel (and quite a few have already done so), so that we can coordinate standard instance runs and group together more often as well.

Several people have worked pretty hard on this, and we're very excited to see it finally come to fruition. The groundwork has already borne fruit, as our excellent foray into Molten Core over the last week and our first-attempt, 25-minute destruction of Onyxia tonight clearly demonstrate. Lurkers and CA have built a strong and warm relationship over the past few months, and Lurkers and The Basin have a long, long history of friendship. This alliance should go a long way toward bringing CA and The Basin together as well, not to mention rekindling old friendships between Lurkers and The Basin.

Lock and load, folks. It's time to party. :)

Try being almost the only healer when you've got 4 monkey tanks (Anadrol, Darian, Gnolack and Telsak) deciding to mostly berserker stance through a whole dungeon while going Anadrol speed on the pulls with very few AoErs in the group. ;)

I say almost the only healer because there was a pally with us, but he was in DPS mode along with the warriors. :)

But berserker stance lets them kill the mobs faster so they take less damage... right? :)

Hmmmm . . . I should try the Berserker-stance-through-the-whole-instance thingy.

And in other news, :w00t: for the Avarice alliance!

This is a bit out of place; and we're wandering off topic, but we had a run last night in UBRS with Critical Mass where mages took two of the top three damage taken slots (and there were three warriors in the group) :P Of course two of us spent the entire instance dpsing (other than Drak) and we AEed pretty much every pull but the major bosses, but hey.
Stormrage:
Flyndar (60) - Dwarf Priest - Tailoring (300), Enchanting (300)
Minimagi (60) - Gnome Mage - Herbalism (300), Engineering (301)
Galreth (60) - Human Warrior - Blacksmithing (300), Alchemy (300); Critical Mass by name, Lurker in spirit
ArynWindborn (19) - Human Paladin - Mining/Engineering (121)

What just because we made Anadrol take his shield off or get out of the instance you think we were monkeys! :) And we also made the paladin put on a two hander as well. :) But I still don't see how that makes us monkeys. :)

And I still think the four mobs fleeing and 4 warriors chasing them and then more executes going off and 4 mobs dying at the same time was one of the greatest things I've ever seen in an instance.

It's all just zeroes and ones and duct tape in the end.

That UBRS run was great fun but I think I got up to almost 300k of healing done by the end! (I think I only hit a few mobs keeping up with the tank and mage heals!)

Its great that the alliance is formal now and I love the alliance chat mod!

I was actually talking about a BRD run. Anadrol, how many monkey-tank runs have you done lately?! ;)

What is this from?? lol!

Thanks everyone! I believe that I can speak for the Basin as a whole when I say that we are VERY pleased to be a part of this alliance! Not only will we have the added benefits of many more participants for scheduled raids and so forth, we also have the great opportunity of opening the avenue for new friendships! It is my sincere belief that everyone can and will benefit from this arrangement, and we are very pleased to be aboard!

I had the excellent experience of going on my (first, <gasp!>) tribute run with a few of the Lurkers last night, and despite my n00bness, I had a wonderful time grouping with everyone. I even got a plug in to advertise my new shop, coming soon to Ironforge: The Inept Priestess - An emporium of n00blar clothing

Thanks again, everyone. I am very much looking forward to getting to know everyone better, and hope to come along for one of the Avarice raids in the very near future. See you all in game!

People mentioned Honorables last night, and how it should eventually become obsolete. We've (both sides) have moaned about Honorables being ineffective at times, and I think this is the difference:

We treated Honorables as a way to get more members for what we want.

We treat Guilded (Avarice) as guild chat. It's a big shift in mentality, and it helps us become much closer.
Trade yourself in for the perfect one. No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined!

By the way,

Are you folks going to consider the possibility of BWL? Maybe not right away, but a 25-minute this-is-old-hat style whompage of Onyxia is a sign that eventually there should be a push to get to this next level. Finishing MC would be the first priority, but it isn't the end goal...

Just wondering, because, as you know, a bunch of us casual gamers will never get to see this content because we are incapable of putting together dedicated raid groups.

Oh, wait...

*wink*

Ab-so-lutely. We're going to have to gear up a little better first, but that should come with mastering MC.

By the way... hope this makes you especially happy, Bolty. I know you've kinda itched for this. :)

With this alliance sealed we will have the depth to be able to attempt bwl, but our break and butter will be MC and onyxia for awhile. I think that once we can clear out MC and onyx within the week and have nothing to do then BWL will rear its head into our rotation, that probably means getting MC down to a 2 day run if possible eventually. The key to that is simply farming it enough to gear everyone out. Should take a few weeks depending on how many bosses go down each time. I am very excited about the patient folks who havn't cashed in yet finally getting some loot!, with more bosses and onyxia going down weekly this should start to speed up now, specially with the amount of folks that were able to loot up this week, grats all!
