My first cast bronze sculpture.
#1
The original I sculpted directly in wax, then last week I built the form . This morning we poured the molten bronze, and this is how it looks after I spent about 2.5 hours in the grinding room cutting away the funnel, sprues and defects from the mold. I have about 9 hours invested in it so far, and a little more before it's done.

A worthy first attempt! May the joy of making them never leave you. :)

Very nifty (hard to find an adjective that hadn't been used already.:) )

That's great. To see something like that, that your own two hands actually crafted, must bring a sense of pride/joy.

Did you get enough experience from that quest to level up?

Yes, I think so.

For my level 2 quest I'm going to attempt to make this;

[Image: Dragon_head_3D_model_by_deligaris.jpg]

I'll try to make the main skull about 9" x 5", with the horns and frill extending from that. Overall it should be about 18" high x 12-15" wide.

Nifty, that is. Well done.
