Sadness... (depressed rant)

:( My account's password is... changed?
I can no longer get in to it. Maybe I'm just having a brain lapse with the password or something, but... no.
:(
I've tried every password I might have used at one point.
:(
Nothing.
:(
All my characters are...... gone. :(
*sigh*
Sadness.

And this would be the first time you've logged on since... when? Start of the month? Or far more recently than that?

If it's truly gone and you gotta start over again, I'd be more than happy to help you out on USEast that is. What good is wealth if you dont make good use of it, I enjoy helping people :D .

There have been a few occasions where people have been successful in getting their accounts back after e-mailing Blizzard support

Do give that a try and good luck

@Ace
How did you know (kinda...) I made an account I am going to give away to the best scammer I can find...
Username: StealMe
Password: Haxor
The account names say something in order... :P
More on topic, sorry about that... but try mailing blizzard about it.

Off topic again, Refrigerator, didn't your old account say "Never be flippantly rude to elderly strangers in foreign hotels. They always turn out to be the kind of (Sweden/Scotland/...).

Another idea is to try the password you had before and reverse it. Say it was Diablo, try olbaiD

Is there any reason you propose inversing the word?

When I had my account stolen, the hijacker changed my password to pen15. I say that you should try every obscene word you know. Sorry about your account.

Emailing blizzard would be nice. Those people do make mistakes. *cough*

Also, there is a place on battle.net that you can input your account name and realm and email and they will confirm if your account has in fact been closed (this happened to me :( )

Not all that long. I know my account IS still there though, because I can't recreate it...

So I still have a chance of getting it back....

Wapptor: Oh yeah, thanks, I'll get on that right away

Everyone with passwords to try: Thanks, I'll try em.

And just where is that place on b.net?

Not that it necessarily applies in this case, but I thought I would point out that blizzard's method for banning accounts is to change the password. They do this instead of deleting, since it gives them a backup plan in case there arises disputes which require re-activating the account.

So, it could be that your account got banned. That's actually the most probably reason. Hacking into an account would not be as easy as you might think.

Not too hard if he had a trojan. Not to imply anything...

I actually had some stranger change the password to my accounts once. I was on as one of my accounts, and I saw my other accounts log on one after another. The person only logged on with my highest lvl character on the accounts, entered a private game(for a very short time), then left b.net.

While he was doing this, I tried to access my accounts, and it said wrong password. I tried to /m the person, but they were on and off so fast that I had no time.

A minute or 2 later I tried my accounts again, and the password was back to normal. I checked the characters that had been on, and nothing had changed on them except an item or 2 was identified that had been unided(I had been saving for trading).

I'm pretty lucky I guess that I didn't lose anything... I don't see how I could have had a trojan, but I've never given my password to *anyone*. It was also nearly impossible to "guess" by knowing me. I still can't explain it.

I updated my firewall, reinstalled diablo and LOD, and haven't had a problem yet. After this experience though, I'm more willing to believe those that say, "My account was stolen".

It doesn't really matter to me anyway, I play HC only and am used to losing my characters(eventually...). Would have pissed my off a little though.

Once I logged in to find out that someone had personalized and socketed my Felloak o_0
Also my 43% resist ward was replaced with a 45%, socketed with a perfect diamond. Now that's pretty creepy if you ask me. ;)

I don't know if this is relevant, but about twenty four hours ago I was playing a character in the USEast llngeacct. The connection dropped, and since that time I get an invalid password message every time I try to log in to the account -- from two different computers.

I have gone back to check the original password more than once. Other people can play on the account, and I have no problem playing on the west llngeacct. I have no problem playing on my own USEast accounts...except for the unfortunate death of my highest level hero.

Whomever thought up this feature I would like to throw into a pit with Reziarfg.

Could be any number of reasons. Ive had the same problem on west as well. For me, it was probably linked to a duped item I had(unbenounced to me). If there's anything you've traded for, especially if its a popular item, it could be a dupe; and thats liscense enough for them to remove/whatever your account. Even if its just one item. =(

Mine was an IK armor, shoulda seen that one coming. =P But as far as I can think, thats the only possible non-legit item that was on my account, and thereby my possible "banning".

Can you think of any items that might not be so "clean"?
