I played the downloadable version of Sacred using each of the two available character types allowed for about a month. Maxxed both the characters as far as what you are allowed to explore.
Verdict: Sacred is a D2 clone (albeit with beautiful graphics).
There is no way you can compare Sacred with the original Diablo. The original Diablo is all about strategy, tactics, placement of obstructions and characters, holding doorways/arches, controlling the number of foes as they attack, slow, well-developed character/armor/spell development, ....
There is simply no way you can compare Sacred with Diablo1. They don't play in even a remotely similar fashion.
Similar to D2, yes. Similar to D1, not a chance.
