Looking To Group...>Ohhhh if I had a nickle for every time I said that in EverQuest a game that forced you to "Group with other players in order to play the game or just to survive a fight with powerful MOBs "

Hint for you 1st time MMORPG beta players, since the MMORPG world is so Large If you add "shout" to your chat line you will cover a MUCH Larger "Able to hear message Area" /shout, Tank LTG...Note: shout text is often a different color than a regular colored test message. :o

Hi

You are Correct...LFG: "Looking for a group to join." & the reason for TANK LFG, is to let others know your Class, incase a Group is Looking for Cleric or some other Class than a TANK, it saved time or you got a Message "/What Class are You" :o

However in EQ this was a Major problem, there were Never enough Groups, Often there were too Many GROUPS Camping a MOB Spawn with no open slots for newly Arriving players, like ME so I would Start a Group...hence...>I Remember, TANK LTG = Looking To "START" a Group...& I don't know why it's not LTSG & I have no Idea why it's not listed in the EQ Glossary I could be Wrong :P

Which MMORPG have you played ?

Lingo varies alot community to community, server to server. As does some etiquette.

Generally speaking, however, an lfg message with "Tank LFG" or "DPS LFG" is considered rude. Say your class. And please, use caps sparingly (infers a raised voice, no one likes to be screamed at). If you don't, I'll flip off a box full of kittens.

LTG... I've never seen that particular acronym used in the time I've played EQ. So I'm going to assume it's old lingo (similar to "lure" being the "archaic" form of "puller", say it now and everyone gives you a blank stare), unique to your server, or to EQ:OA.

WoW will have it's own language long before it goes retail...
