Hi,
No name ideas, but a few on getting a name.
You need to "know" your character. Where is he from? What kind of a language do they speak there? Is it a guttural language, is it more musical, does it have many vowels (like the Romance languages) or few (like Arabic and Hawaiian). Are names in that language mostly descriptive or are they just "arbitrary" sounds.
No need to make a big production of it, although that can get to be fun. But a minute or so thinking like that, and your character will often just "tell" you his name.
Good luck,

What I like to do is think of what skills/weapons they will use mostly, and name them after that. So if I was going to use a lot of Fire Bolt (for whatever reason), I would name her after something firey, like working Pyro into a pun of some famous person's name or something. For instance, I once saw an Amazon (Diablo 2) who used Charged Strike, and named their character JoanOfSpark.

Some names I have used over the time:
Halfdan - Sorcerer
Balthazar - Fighter-Mage (Warrior who specialises in magic)
Guillaume - Cookie Cutter Warrior
Hector - Axe Warrior.
Annika - Sword'n'Shield Rogue
Linnea - Bow Rogue
Manbolt - Muscle Mage (Strength-obsessed non-magical sorcerer).

Some sort of sidekick or supporting character who gets left behind to be caught by the baddies and shoulder the blame for the hero's action, I presume?

Hello!
Methinks that we can't really help you on that subject because the name you choose really depends on personal favour. Everyone likes something else! Usually one is inspired by the things one sees and reads. Often Tolkien-ish words are found for such fantasy figures.
If you really want a suggestion, then how about: xXDESIREXx ;)
(hope I'm not moving on thin ice here)
