Hiya's
Was running through Silverpine a couple weeks ago and noticed one of those bodies that are lying around all over called Digglerdirk or Dirkdiggler one of the 2 , that famous Dirk from Diablo , of course named after that famous 70's pornstar . I wonder why they should reference him , is he after all working for Blizzard :P
Bah cannot even spell Diablo in the title , sitting sideways typing while watching TV not only gives you a bad back , but can cause severe cases of Typoid .
Take care
"Wirts Third Leg" is still around too. I have one but I cant get anyone to buy it despite how much everyone loves the name when I spam it in IF.

The Needler is in, and I'm pretty sure some other famous Diablo items are, as well.
The Legend of Zelda made it in, with a gnome warrior in Un'goro Crater named Linken. You can find Linken's Sword of Mastery, and I've seen someone with Linken's Boomerang.

Ah, Linken's boomerang: http://thottbot.com/?i=4832
Every paladin's dream. I'm holy-specc'd so at 40 I'll have holy shock, but boy I sure cry at night for a ranged attack :P
Just looked up the Linken related quests--as a Zelda fan I have to say they really went out in homage:
"It's dangerous to go alone."
"It's a secret to everybody."

I think during beta, they had a thread dedicated to references in WoW and i think it ended up being 20+ pages long.
A couple
Toucan Stan
Captain Kirk
Hin Denburg
Innkeeper Bates
And many many more, it's fun finding them, but annoying because they obviously violate their own naming policy quite often.

My favorite one is a complete accident.
There's an NPC in Dustwallow Marsh called Nat Pagle.
I have a friend who's name is Pat Nagel :)
Trade yourself in for the perfect one. No one needs to know that you feel you've been ruined!

The entire Samophlange questline is a Thundercats reference: especially to the voice acting outtakes.
There's allegedly a Grimlock, as an homage to Transformers the Movie
I've heard something about a podracing course in Thousand Needles.
Heck, even many quest names are somewhat referential...

Oh yeah, there's the Excaliboar that's a rare drop in RFD. There's plenty, it's just a matter of spotting them and having a nice chuckle.

The Bul-Kathos' set made it in, renamed as Dal'Rend. They are dropped by Rend in Upper Blackrock Spire and make an incredible set of dual wield swords.
Diablo2 set: Bul-Kathos' Children
WoW Set: Dal'Rend's Arms

He's in Uldaman. He actually says "ME GRIMLOCK KING" which is a flat out of quote. I love it :)

I was disapointed he drops a spear instead of a sword. Doesn't stop me from trying to get it as a drop but still disapointed. ;)

Staff of Jordan. :D
If you sell enough of them to a vendor, will the Archimonde Clone appear? :)
Nothing is impossible if you believe in it enough.

I wield the Butcher's Cleaver! I got it as a random drop in SFK, and it's perfect for a 1h+s warrior. I even got it enchanted with 'Lesser Useless Red Glow,' to make myself feel better about letting our enchanter take all the greens no one needed.

Isn't there also a club or mace named "Bonesnap?" In D2, it's a unique maul, but I want to say that I saw it during the beta.
There's also Shadowfang (a two-handed sword in D2)...

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the dagger "The Ziggler" yet.
