Metroid Metal has some pretty good remixes of the original songs from Metroid on the NES. I believe Stemage is working on Super Metroid songs now, he already has a remix of Lower Norfair up (has been up for some time now). He even has the original midi's up for comparison! Give some of these songs a listen and tell me what you think. B)

I'll check it out later, don't really have the time to now. Sounds a lot like what you find on OCRemix though. A group of people from there did a Super Metroid remix called "Relics of the Chozo."
