Welcome back.

Internet GOOD!

Boredom BAD!

*Godbless Phil Hartman.
All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.

Welcome back Roland! Many things have happened in your absence:

* Bolty stepped down as administrator and his position as all-round hunk, in order to pursue a career in tomato management. It's going very well, and his tomato effeciency has boomed a whopping 13,7%... but we're only guessing at this point.

* Occhidiangela said something clever. Twice! We were all amazed.

* I made a thread, and almost got banned from the forum, but seeing as tomatoes are indestinguishably absent from the Lounge, Bolty was not here to catch me in the act.

* Griselda developed a curious fascination with onomatopoeia, and we're all rather worried about her. Hope you're feeling better, hon'!

* Deebye found a new Internet freebie. I am now the proud owner of a Braun Dishwasher:

And the ere three shrill notes the pipe uttered
You heard as if a army muttered
The muttering grew to a grumbling
And the grumbling grew to mighty rumbling
And out of the Lounge the Lurkers came tumbling

(with apologies to Browning)
Why can't we all just get along

Gris, no apologies needed.

That was actually brilliant. You preserved the iambic pentameter!

OK, is a pentameter a device that measures the level of bullsh__ emitted by the Pentagon during daily news briefs.

The other day a reporter asked Sec Def Rumsfeld "are we winning in Iraq" (a loaded question) and he gave a rather convoluted answer. General Meyers then stepped up and opined that "yes, we are winning so far" or some such cheery generalization. (hey, that was unintentional, but it was a pun.)

While the question was the usual loaded, unidimensional BS, I can only wonder at how high the pentameter reading was during that press conference.
