health regen

Trolls come with

Regeneration - passive
10% health regen bonus, 10% active in combat

and Shamans can get

Combat Endurance - Rank 1/1
Allows 10% of your health regeneration to work while in combat

So basically I am wondering if these stack to give you 20% regen. I'm pretty sure they don't, but its good to verify such things. I don't really care for the skill too much, but in several builds I am considering I have at least 1 point to spend that seems to be going in a mostly useless talent no matter where I put it. So I was thinking that of the useless talents, Combat Endurance might at least give some small gain. If it doesn't stack with Troll Regeneration, then its not even a possible choice. So am I correct in it not stacking?

The Internet says yes. Various other places agree, just google for combat endurance troll regeneration for more discussion.

As a level 52 warrior, I get a grand total of 4 health per second, with Troll regen and a decent amount of tertiary spirit.

This, largely, is a worthless trait. I've never seen a spot where it's really 'saved me' or 'been useful'. Maybe the out of combat bonus of 5 health/tic... nah. When you've got 3300 hp unbuffed or so, this isn't that great.

Don't choose a troll for their racial traits. None of them, aside from perhaps Beastslaying, is at all worthwhile.

Have confidence that you at least are the coolest looking race on Azeroth.

I think troll mage takes the absolute prize for the worst set of racials in the game:

Health regen: I never sit and watch my health bar go up, if it's too low I eat conjured food. Useless

Throwing weapons specialisation: Can't use em

Cast and attack speed buffs if someone crits me: got Improved AM, if someone's critting me and I don't want to nova and blink then Improved AM gets no benefit from this and is my better option that a 25% faster but stuttered Fireball

+5% damage to beasts: unless you're a mage. For some reason this doesn't affect my spells. When I nuke beasts I seem to do exactly the same damage to them as to anything else.

I don't think any other class and race combination has such utterly useless traits. The Troll traits might be quite decent on a Warrior, in fact

I'm a warrior. I still maintain they're terrible. Berzerking and Beaslaying are marginal, Throwing is ALWAYS pointless to everyone. Ever. If you're using a throwing weapon, as I did till 48, you do it because:

1) Style
2) It doesn't take inventory space
3) It's faster than a bow

Never damage that 5 more skill adds.

Beastslaying? 5-10 per swing more damage on about 1/3 of the enemies I fight. Marginal, but as close as troll gets to good.

Berzerking? Haven't used it extensively. I prefer the old talent design, where I didn't need to be crit upon to activate it (I'm building +def gear, I'm not a fury warrior). and wear it didn't up damage taken by 10%. Berzerker stance is enough of a risk. This one's also marginal.

Health Regen? It's anemic. Early game, the 1 health every few seconds isn't doing anything. Endgame? the 5 health is just as pathetic.

Trolls take comfort in our incredible sense of style, because our racial traits are flat out crap. I'd trade all 4 for 5% more health, warstomp, or even Nerfed WoTF.

Berserking is quite nice for mages. 1.12s Scorches are very, very nice, especially if you're crit specced :)

I don't get this

You have to have been critted to make this happen. Which probably means that something is still hitting you when you cast Scorch. A stuttered Scorch is at least 2.12s even if you're lucky enough to only get stuttered once

That's what Frost Nova is for.

You can also easily avoid being stuttered if you're timing your casting properly so it goes between swings against 1 mob, it's actually much easier with the Frost Armor that reduces attack speed as well.
