About a month ago I found myself in a very, very lucky situation. I had been getting frustrated at how expensive the Dire Maul books for the Priest trinket quest, Holy Bologna: What the Light Won't Tell You, were on the auction house so I decided that I should see if I could solo-farm the Dire Maul books from Dire Maul West to get Silverflail her trinket.
Thus, I ended up taking my Warlock, Dragoon, into DM West and reset the instance a couple times until the book I was looking for spawned. Then I sent in my Voidwalker to distract the mobs and ran up to loot the book. Usually, looting a book yields the ever-popular URL=http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=35609]A Thoroughly Read Copy of "Nat Pagle's Extreme' Anglin."[/URL]. However, the fates seemed to be on my side that day as, on my first book, I got Foror's Compendium of Dragonslaying.
I was absolutely stunned and just about mis-clicked when I went to loot the book from the shock of getting such an unbelievably rare drop on my first try. Needless to say, I stuck the book in the mail and sent it to my Warrior, Skybreak, who had just recently hit level 60. There, she started the quest.
"Well," I thought, "this looks like an easy enough quest," and so I set out for the Dire Maul library to turn in the book.
I sneaked into the Athenaeum through Dire Maul North and went to turn in the book to one of the librarians there.
In hindsight, Lydros is right, I could have sold this book for a fortune. I saw one up on the auction house the other day for 5,000 gold. I really liked how Blizzard threw that bit in about the black market, it was a nice show of humor for those few that are lucky enough to get their hands on this book. :)
Lydros continued...
Here, I think one of my screenshots might not have worked since I think a page of text was missing when I went back to look through it. The page talked about how the book details that Elven Blades can be enchanted to make very powerful weapons. Hence, Lydros continues...
Here, Lydros gave me the basic Elven blade that could be used for this process.
