Terenas Friday Nov. 11

So what should we do?

I'm tired (literally, due to lack of sleep :D) of BRD. I wouldn't mind taking a break from it this Friday. Maybe one BRD group (we have kind of a disparity now, some people are much further along than others)? If everyone still wants BRD this week I am willing but I'd like to do something different.

As GG said, we're big enough for anything. Could do Dire Maul east, or LBRS if people wish to.

I've been really itching to do the outdoor sequence of quests in the Eastern Plaguelands. They require a group, and have really nice rewards for every class except for druid and rogue:

Stormrager for mages/warlocks/priests
Gorewood Bow for hunters (maybe warriors for stats, good stam)
Sacred Protector for shamans and warriors

The Alliance version of this quest makes you PvP enabled. The Horde version is easier, but will still require a minimum of 5 people (others can help outside the group with the fights if necessary).

If people are interested I can post details of the quest prep (there are 3 prereq quests to do before you start on the parts that require a group, although I needed some help to finish two of those three even).

As always, I'll be there, and I'll go where I'm most needed. I do have a couple of thoughts though, since they've been asked for. Bear in mind, these are just my preferences, I'm not firing orders, or anything. :D My game enjoyment comes in many facets. I enjoy seeing new instances, and things I've never encountered before. At this point, with Gorkuk, it all is new. :) But, speaking of BRD...there's a lot of things to do in there, it's a really big instance, with alot of quests. Some of those quests require you going back to town to turn them in and pick up the next sequence. That's all well and fine, but it makes for some very long nights, and multiple trips. My Friday nights consist of about 3 hours of sleep before I have to get up and go to work. The last few weeks in BRD have been laborious for me because of all the exits and instance re-entries. They're unavoidable, I understand that, but that time spent doing that is time we're not clearing mobs in the instance, and with my early mornings on Saturdays, I prefer to spend my Friday night fighting...not travelling. In that light, I'm not overly concerned if I go back to BRD this week. A break might do me good. So, in a nutshell....I'm up for wherever I'm needed most. I think that's a big part of being in a guild, is to play where you're most needed, with the character class that brings the biggest benefit to the group. I don't have any class choices at the upper level (yet) :P , but will someday. If I had my way this Friday, I'd try to get that bow from the EP quests. I'm about 70% to level 59 right now...and anything this week where I can get exp and a good bow is a winner to me. :D

Yeah BRD is getting old for people but I do want to get a run in where the goal is hit the bar and go after the emperor. That would clear a lot of quests from most people's logs. The emperor has rewards (and potential drops) that I would like to get. Though I would still need to escort the monkey (and think we have a few people that just need to do KoS 2 before they can do that) so that I would have the arglemach (or is it angerforge) kill quest to do on the way.

I use Gorewood bow on Gnolack. 9 stamina is hard to pass up when tanking things in Molten Core. I actually don't know of a better bow to use for tanking though I haven't really looked.

I'd prefer a break from BRD this week. I'd like to sneak in a quick run to BRD sometime during this week or so, just far enough for Bael'Gar and Incendious. Not too far in if you have the key. That will reduce my BRD needs to the coffer and the emperor.

My preference this Friday is to do the outside quests, for the guaranteed upgrade. I will probably take the shield reward, as there aren't any better for quite some time, likely the Draconian Deflector will replace it, unless a Barrier Shield drops for me. The +9 stamina on the bow is nice, but there are greens available with +9 stamina, which is why I finally decided to take the shield. I'd like to also sneak in some quests from Tirion Fordring. They are in the same area, and those eventually lead to some nice quest rewards, including the Ornate Adamantium Breastplate, which is likely my last tanking breastplate until the expansion.

However, I think that there is enough interest that a BRD run is in order, and I'm hopeful we'll have plenty that still want to go in there. We usually field two groups anyway.

Two other tidbits concerning Durambar this week:

I capped last night, and I have all of the mats for my Enchanted Thorium Helm.

So, on that note, how goes the Thorium Brotherhood rep, Conc?

Grats on the level.

The Enchanted Thorium Helm has nothing at all to do with Thorium Brotherhood rep. You need Enchanted Thorium Platemail volumes 3. You get that by combining The bottom half from Stratholme and The top half that drops from Uruk in BRS. You then take the completed book into the library in DM North (which means you need to get the key from DM East) and turn it in.

Hello everyone,

I am taking a 4 day continuing education seminar this weekend. I have to leave my house really early on Saturday morning. So I will probably be playing WoW on Friday night, but I'll be logging out too early to do any instance runs or long drawn out quests that take hours to complete. The group can safely eliminate me from any decisions about where to go.

Have fun.

:(

We'll miss you.

I'm not actually sure how long it might take to do the EPL stuff if we end up doing that. It seems it could be quite short if we are successful, but it probably will take multiple attempts at least on the last part of the quest.

And one half... I think the top half... is pretty rare, like a 3-5% drop rate or something.

Thorium Bro. rep will be up through honored soon, thanks to recent donations.

Who's next on the list, who should I send the extras to?

I'm up for anything. I wouldn't mind being in a BRD group if Durambar is sick of BRD. It'll allow me to pick up the TB recipies I'm now eligible for (after about 15-20 minutes exclusively turning in the Dark Iron Residue quest over and over... it only accepts 4 at a time, and you need to turn in 960 residue).

I have 3 remaining quests for BRD:
Heart of the Mountain
Attunement to the Core
Royal Rescue

But I've never been in DM or in BRS or done the Plaguelands series quests. Never been in strat either, though I've done some zer... er... raiding in Scholo. I'm willing to do any of those as well.

Looking at available gear, DM and BRS seem to be the places where the good stuff is. Scholo and Strat look to just mainly have the set pieces, which are no longer all that great except for maybe the Hunter and Warlock sets. DM seems to have lots of pretty nice stuff.

I have Friday off, so I'm up for anything that I can do without dying with minimal effort on the part of the mobs. :D I also may just sit and level for awhile [if I can settle on a place to be :whistling: ] . . .
Tank for hire.

I have a low level druid on Terenas. I'd love to be involved in something. Just questing around with mates is fine. Think he's not even 10 yet.

Yuri will be there, lvl 59 now. Looking to break 60 if I am part of the BRD group. I'm up for anything so no big deal where I end up. I'm not sick of BRD yet but hope to get that uber wand someday (but I don't really need it). Rest bonus all the way to 60 so if I don't make 60 this Friday, I'll grind it out quest prep'ing for the next instances.

Looking forward to hearing from you all on Friday.

Conc will surely pop tonight, I think he has half a bubble, or maybe less, remaining.

At this point I hope I'm in a BRD group, because I haven't done any prep for anything else, though I don't think DM needs much prep does it?

The trickiest prep is that you need to set foot into any DM instance (North, East or South) before you can get the quest from Rabine SomebodyorOther in Moonglade who sends you to Silithus for a pre-req quest to getting a felvine shard out of DM East. The interesting bit is that you can actually get the shard without having the quest so you really don't even have to do that prep work if you don't want to.
