15" LCD laptop monitor. 1024x768 (XGA) at 60 Hz.

Nowadays I'm starting to think that a 14.1" with the same resolution would have been sufficient, and much lighter. Well.

Wow, I should have added the refresh rate for CRT variable in my question. I personally cannot stand anything lower than 75Hz for any longer than a few minutes at a time. My 17" monitor will support up to 1280x1024, but only at 60Hz. I much prefer running at 1024x768x85Hz.

Aye, just looking over at Lenovo's website shaving .9" off the screen size (15" to 14.1", is a one pound difference). I was surprised this was such a large difference, nearly a twenty percent weight drop for less than a 15th off the view screen.

To anyone out there who owns a 12" X series thinkpad... . The grass is always greener.

Cheers,

Munk

21" CRT, 1600x1200

I don't use an LCD monitor, because they look terrible when running outside of their native resolution... And I certainly can't run some of the higher-end games at 1600x1200.

Yes, but then how do you keep the paper steady?

Laptop: 15.4" Widescreen LCD with Truelife @ 1680x1050. It is a little small sometimes - but like some guy said earlier: LCD's look terrible outside of their native resolution. The only available option less than that had a verticle resolutoin that prohibited even 1024x768. Of course, the deciding factor for the entire laptop was whether or not Diablo looked decent enough and didn't stretch to fill the widescreen.

At work I'm running a 19" CRT @ 1280x1024, but actually I have a question about this. I use AutoCAD often, but the odd aspect ratio 1280x1024 hasn't been working out while drawing because it distorts the elements. I want to run at 1280x960 (4:3), but for some reason that setting does not appear in display properties (but 1280x768 and 1280x800 do). I am running a monitor that supports resolutions up to 1600x1200 as well as a NVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 Mb video card. So, basically, I am confident that my computer can run at 1280x960 with no problems.

I did some google searches and all I found was a few registry mods that seemed to only apply to some ATI cards, especially since I don't have any registry entries like them. I am pretty sure it is *some* Windows registry setting, however. How can I tweak this thing so I can choose 1280x960 on the "slider"?
