Was there this in development? A separate magic-user class? Recalling name like "blood mage"?

A blood mage was planned for Hellfire patch 1.02, but never developed.

Without any documentation offhand, was this blood mage a living-on-"magic" creature (one which has lots of magic and hardly any others)?

I don't know more. I think Jarulf spoke of it, saying that he had contact with HellFire's team when they cancelled the 1.02 patch. But I didn't find this discussion (I thought it was on TheDark forum).
