Good day everybody:)
Is an Arch-Angels staff of Fireball good?
A guy told me it is useful for duels since you don't have to use mana to cast FB.
But this stuff doesn't actually raise my FB slvl to 20, does it? Don't know what to think...

Spells cast from staves are at the same level as you know the spell. So if you have slvl 20 Fireball, you will get slvl 20 Fireballs from your staff. You'll need other items besides the AA staff to raise your spell to this level though.

thinking cap: +2 to all magic spells.
naj's light plate armor: +1 to all magic spells.
now you can use a dreamflange cudgel +1 to all spells, with some usefull shield;
or angel's staff +1 to all spells or arch angel's staff +2 to all spells.
so the max you can add is +5.
here was my tank mage set up:
royal circlet helm
awesome plate
stormshield
dreamflange
drake's amulet of wizbang
obsidian ring of titans
obsidian (jade? i don't remember) ring of heavens
with all that the armor was plenty to handle knights in hell/hell.
with r.c. and dreamflange the + light radius was +30, which was difficult.
mana and magic spells were not as high, but the armor was very high.
so it's up to you which way you want to play. it's easier to go arty mage because you
don't have to raise your strength high to wear heavy plate. all you have to do is focus
your level up points into magic, and you'll have very high mana level. with that and a
mana shield, you don't have to put anything into vitality.
so what's my point? i'm not sure, i'm just rambling. good luck and happy gaming.

I also think a mage with a staff looks better.

ya you really need a obsidian or jade jewel of titans more so than a zodiac to get strong enough. but
not that much:
max strength 45
stormshield +10
royal circlet +10
now you only need 25. you could get this off one high end titan suffix. then you're strong enough.

I'd probably say that an AA/Wizardry is much more helpful for a sorcerer. You also might actually cast out a staff in a duel with another sorcerer. I'd say I probably cast anywhere between 100-300 fireballs per 8 potion duel. The 60 mana isn't bad, too.
