Gold Farming
#1
Hail to my fellow Loungers. I don't venture onto these boards very often since I don't partake in WoW goodness. But I happened upon a NY Times article online about Gold Farming in China. It's a rather lengthy article, 7 pages in total.

There is nothing earth shattering found in the article, but it does do a good job of explaining a very odd career choice. I didn't know for every 100 Gold a Chinese player is paid 1.25$, then eventually resold for about 20$ to US Clients. Crazy stuff!

If you want to check out the article, you can find it here. Since it is so long, I'll refrain from block quoting the whole thing.

Cheers,

Munk

Yeah I read it and emailed to a few wow playing friends too.

warrior monks and night elf wizards.

A fun read, they have good writers, but it's not the first time in my 3 years of reading NYT that they've passed off wrong facts. Writer didn't know 40 men raids were in the past too, and the farmers were featured farming in level 60 areas, so obviously this was not a recent interview.
