Good friend of mine has written a fantasy book. I got to read and critique one of his manuscripts and it was actually pretty good and not just "good because I know the author" deal. After not wanting to play the waiting game with traditional publishing, he's decided to go the self-publishing route and to help with some of the costs, he's started a kickstarter project. If we don't meet the goal, the book will be published anyway. Oh, and you won't be charged until the end of the project. You won't be charged right when you pledge.

This now concludes the end of my shameless plug for this year.
