It's cool, and I cannot imagine anyone who is more than a "1 run through normal & put the game aside" player would want to play this game without elective mode turned on.

If you don't know how to put together a well-rounded skill set, it may be better for you that it is turned off so the game does it for you, but that is the only situation I can imagine where it's desirable.

Personally, I have been playing with it off. It feels more challenging having to pick between two (or more) good skills. That is my style, however.
