Looking for things
#1
I have been looking for various things related to Diablo recently but most every link I find is now dead. Perhaps someone here know of a working link or perhaps even have the files I am looking for. They are:

CEL viewer. Something to be able to look at CEL files.

Umos DUN editor. To be able to view and edit the DUN files I presume.

Any other tool or program to view files and things from the Diablo game.

I also noted that the 1.09 patch fixed a bug about "distance". If I recall correctly it was really about how one walked in the dungeons, no? That was introduced in 1.08 although nothing is mentioned there. Were there other undocumented things fixed/changed in the latest patches? Anywere it is documented or can be found?

That is about it for now. Thanks.

Hi Jarulf.

There's a D1 modding community at The Dark Forums. They can probably help you out with any tools you need.

Problem is:

Don't remember my password.
New signup not possible.
Mail on site bounces due to having reached limit.

So I can't really use the site at all except reading old posts.

Thanks!!

Hi,
I think you'll find everything you are looking for in this file:

I don't get it. That page seems completely empty apart from a google ad. I see nothing there.

Strange, I suppose your browser blocks something there? Does this direct link work for you?: http://www.loaditup.de/files/703059_w8c92vwc26.zip

Yes, this worked. Thanks!

I tried the other link in various web browsers by the way, none worked.

This was very useful, thank you. Are there any newer tools that have been created for Diablo/Hellfire modding? I'm wanting to know how to edit items for my mod.

Were you just wanting to change the values of existing items in the game? And are you wanting to make a new .exe or a .dat file? I have some C#/.net code that reads all the relevant data from a Diablo executable, and it shouldn't be a huge task to make it display that data in an editable grid format that could then be rewritten back again.

I'm using Marsh's Unofficial Hellfire 1.02 patch to build off of to make my own mod. I'm making a list of tools and compiling some guides and tutorials. You can see my list here: http://khanduras.net/2013/07/upload-diab...ols-v1-03/

Do you have any tools or editors to add to the list?

I want to be able to make my own custom levels and have points within town to enter, similar to cave or hell etc. Maybe even a new portal that goes to a new area to explore.

I wrote DRead, which is already on your list (There's an updated version of it here: http://members.allegro.cc/LennyLen/DRead.zip ). There are a few tools I wrote a long time ago, but they all do very specific things and were designed to work with Diablo and not Hellfire. I don't think I have the source code for them any more unfortunately.

That's okay. Dead link there it seems. This is a stretch, but do you know how to get a hold of Ulmo that created the Gillian Stash.

Edit: I see that you updated the link but when I click on it nothing happens, I get an error. You can email it to me, qualakon@gmail.com
