Forgive my lack of knowledge but what is a "drop" hack? If you mean it drops me from the game and allows me to be PKilled ... that sucks but I can live with it. If it means I can be forced to drop my items ... I wont be playing in public games anymore. Period.

Which is it?

Strangely I have heard the funny windows tone before and I dropped, but every time I was in a game by myself and when I came back I wasn't dead.

Essentially it times you out of the game. Due to the latency issues, however, the hacker can then do enough damage to you in a short enough time before the game catches up - where it then registers that you died before you left the game. It is a big deal in HC where you can lose very high level characters.
