Hi,

I've always preferred ranged attackers to melee warriors or magic users. Although, truth be told I've played all three classes extensively and they are all fun, with different challenges and tactics for each.

The warrior because he is the class that can have many setups and is very fun to play with. I play all 3 classes, I like warrior and mage mostly, rogue is not my fav. since my mage is L41, Warrior is L40, and rogue L28.

Because after concentrating solely on the rogue I'm well on the way to getting it to level 50 (just passed the 1 billion exp points marker today, yay) and it's great, you go into hell/hell and never have to go back to town (swifty/CC/SS/vamp). Too easy in fact, the next char is definitely gonna be an (ARC).

Why, the mage! Versitile, powerful, and capable of turning monsters to pulp in a blink of an eye. No matter how you build a mage, be it vanilla, arty, tank, nekkid, beyond-naked or any of hundreds of other builds and variants, a mage in full-flow is a joy to behold.

Still, I have a soft spot for the good ol' Rogue.

I'd have to say mage.. I've played Tank, Arty, NM, BNM and one with no manashield,
and I think all of them was great fun.

I also had a blast with my LAW warrior. The LAW requires a lot more tactic
than most mage styles/variants I've tried.
At least in my opinion.

The Warrior.

The class that requires more skill to become efficient. A class that lost old advantages that the game creators had in mind, forcing the players to express maximum knowledge during the gameplay.

Not only you need skill, but you need better equipment at average than the other classes. The challenge is the fun factor.

The setups that can be optimized are also many. From the High AC Tank whose worst enemy is autohit to the agressive and cautious T-Shirt LAW.

LAWs are melee specialists. Remove all tha mana from jewelry and you have a Warrior as a Warrior. Also, the crusader-style chainmail and the savage-leather style looks wouldn't hurt, would they? ;)

PS: Since you also pointed out the Monk, wouldn't it make sense to add the other Hellfire classes? ( Perhaps that way I may vote for the Barbarian )
Except in pure mathematics, nothing is known for certain (although much is certainly false).

Hrm, from those choices, I'd probably have to say the Warrior. Overall, I think the Bard is my favorite though. Who DOESN'T love Identify as a skill? ;)
Is grace enough to build a bridge once burned, to fill that which is hollow with the substance of virtue,
Though the wings of a dove have wiped a tear from my eye, my tongue has fanned the flames of transgression,
But love suffers long and rejoices in truth, and this imperfect creation is striving none the less for that which is eternal...

Why did i not make the barbarian or the bard an option ?

Although wishing that i did add the two other hellfire charicters i wanted to base the poll around classic diablo (which i play) and was just curious who else liked the monk.

May i just ask (lvl45's- lvl50's) how much time and effort did it take you to build your charicters ?

Thanx for your help !

Got the sorcerer to 50 in about 4 or 5 months, and current rogue needed around 6-7 months to get to 48. Almost 49 now, just 70 million to go (cca. 10 H/H games). This really depends on how much you play, so everyone can give you a different answer.

Hi,

Try the threaded view, it makes it easier to see who is talking to whom. But, even if you don't like the threaded view, reply from the post you are answering. That makes it easier for everyone else.

The Rogue, of course. The lass is talented and versatile, and well, a visual treat in mail uniform ;)

Warrior coming in a close second, after all the Warrior is the father of the Zen

Rogue! Even after I got my rogue to 50, I still play her the most(as soon as I get back to this game of course ;). She's had a huge number of fantastic coops, and some guys actually have made it through hell without being turned into pin-cushions(eg I don't think Drac0nis has any more room for holes in his back :P ). Also love my low ac rogue who will have a lot of Hit Points (as soon as my cloak of the whale has more than 1 dur  )

Low-AC Warrior comes in second. The reason why I love him so much more than a high-ac one is that for a LAW melee and ranged monsters are equally challenging, whereas for high ac warriors ranged attackers mean way more trouble(with my telekill skills :P ).

I know this topic is old as hell but I was just lookin at some of the older pages and came across this. Lot of new members since this was made, and very possible that some opinions posted here have possibly changed since? What IS your fav class in Diablo?

For me of course, it is the rogue. They are easily the most versatile class in the game, but what attracts me to her the most is her elegant style of play in both PvM and PvP. I leveled 4 rogues to 50 and though im done now I still never get sick of playing them. Ive retired all of them by now though except FireIceTalon, my generation 2 rogue and the strongest of them. Warrior is a very close second for me, with Sorcerer being a distant last.

FireIceTalon is coming up on her 4th b-day this month too, and ive continued to co-op with her long after her exp maxed (playing mostly low ac healing rogue in hell/hell). Through the last few years ive had alot of fun playing her and by now she is a near perfect char and my true pride and joy on this game. Currently, she uses the following items, and as you can see wont be many changes made from here. Most of these items shes had for quite awhile now with very small improvements made here and there over the last 2-3 years. Almost all the items were acquired by myself, with the exception of the Obs Heavens Bow which i traded for a drake zodi I wasnt using with a friend, and one of the drag zod rings, which i traded for a couple other mana zods I wasnt using with a very good friend who no longer plays now (come back John, the game needs ya!!).

Obsidian Plate of the Stars: Breast plate (base 22 AC), RA 38%/+11 to all

Bows:

Massive Bow of Swiftness, Base 1-14, +97% damage/fast attack (Indestructible)
Obsidian Bow of the Heavens, Base 1-14, RA 39%/+15 to all
Merciless Bow of Burning, Base 1-14, +173% damage/+1-16 fire damage (the bow which her name comes from:))

Jewelry
:

Obsidian Amulet of the Zodiac: RA 37%/+19 to all (I believe this jewel to be her oldest item)
Drakes Amulet of the Zodiac: +50 mana/+20 to all
Dragons Ring of the Zodiac: +55 mana/+20 to all
Dragons Ring of the Zodiac: +60 mana/+19 to all

would be most interested to see everyone else's "prides n joys" also, if you still have them. Take care.
