Hail Onion,
Well, I've not played DII much in ages, but here's my system...
GNU/Linux (2.4.16 kerlel)
P4 2.4GHz
512MB DDR
GeForce 2 (forget the specifics)
48/48/12 (I think...I forget) CD-RW
Cable Internet connection
I have screenies of my desktop on my webpage too, if anyone's interested. Why so many screenies? Because I wrote a script to randomly change theme on boot ;)

What is this life if, full of care
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

AMD XP1800+
512 MB DDRAM
GeForce 4 ti4200 / 128 MB RAM
DVD-RW / CD-RW (can't remember the speed)
17" LCD Monitor (damn I love that monitor)
Internet connection is 10 Mbit Ethernet B)
Nothing is overclocked, but I did clock the
XP1800+ to the correct speed since it was
underclocked when I got it. Glad I checked
that :)
Probably overkill to run D2 with, but it's needed
to play UT2003 at a decent framerate.

Hi,
I have a Gateway, and I am SO not L33t, and I know it - no need to ridicule me publicly. That there is an actual abbacus attached to my motherboard is embarrassment enough.

My in-game animations aren't ANYWHERE as tight as they look there.
I recently played the crappy but beautiful "BG:Dark Alliance" for PS2, and with furrowed brow considered if it was possible for D2 to look as creamy.
Thanks for any input.

1,5 Gb Ram! That surely kicks ass.
Aber wofür brauchst du die Conner Festplatte noch?
At least my 19" Monitor (not LCD - for shooters  ) got you beat...
Phew... :D
@all: why do many of you lurkers have such high-end systems? Is it necessary?
I mean like:
P4 3,06
1,5 GB Ram
GeForce FX
200 GB Hard Drive
20" Flatscreen Monitor
10 MBit ethernet connection (probably at college)
This kicks ass, for sure. But it's gotta cost a hell of money?
Well. I wouldn't do it...
Greetings, Fragbait

@all: why do many of you lurkers have such high-end systems? Is it necessary? The 1.5 Gb was just because the shop was out of 120JB hard drives (the ones with 8 Mb cache). I had 512 Mb and decided to get another Gb when they were clearing stock (100$ for 1 Gb of Kingston memory seemed like a good deal to me!). Now I have 1.5 Gb of RAM and Windows doesn't use the swap file, ever. I like that ^_^
The 120 Mb hard drive has been with me since my 386sx. It keeps my DOS games. I payed 350$ (at a time when money was not easy to come by for me ;) ), and as long as it lives it'll come with me on each upgrade. It has 4 bad sectors already though.
In my case, this high end system comes from upgrading my K6-2 @ 350 with 16 Mb Voodoo Banshee and 64 Mb RAM; it's one year old already! So, it might look like a pretty nicely performing system right now, but in another 2-3 years (at least!) it won't ;)
EDIT: Talk about bad memory. I have for soundcard an Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1, given to me as a present from my brother. It sucks. No, really, the card sounds pretty good and the sound comes sharp and nice, but Hercules' drivers... I've upgraded them 3 times and each time they gave me problems (and, on each update, it was a DIFFERENT problem).
