21) If you're new and have not yet made a new introduction thread... I'd not recommend making one. Better to reply to an exisiting thread, and in your reply (while also contributing to the discussion) mention that you're new (if you have to at all) than to start a new thread that shall very likely be flamed or plain ignored.
why not make an introduction thread?

Hi, welcome to the Lounge.
I would suggest you read the etiquette (link is up above next to the rules, FAQ, etc.). If you act quickly, you might even be fast enough to avoid embarrasment and a flaming at the hands of a sarcastic mob.

If you look under your username in your posts, you'll notice that you're member number 1500-something. Imagine what would happen if all the registered members at the Lounge all posted introduction threads. Mavfin (the forum maintainer) would come out of hiding and kill us all for clogging up the forum.
Yes, your spelling does indeed suck. Around here, bad spelling, grammar, usage, mechanics, etc., is considered lazy, and laziness is not tolerated around here. :P We're not asking for an English class composition--just be considerate to forumgoers (especially multilingual users) and capitalize, punctuate, and spell. :)

Oh sure, and just stick it in his face that you're number 74. :P

Oh how I love "I'm new here"-threads. It's one of the few occasions where everybody brings their A-game in terms of witty remarks and sarcastic insults.
.. and Count Duckula, I outrank you!

It's not the size of the member number that counts, it's what you do with it!
Oh, who am I kidding -- I've got member number envy!

Your ideas are the most important thing here, and, yes, spelling and grammar are important too. Your number for when you joined should not reflect your skill in the game, brains, or anything for that matter.

Besides, glim is just jealous.

Oh, who am I kidding -- I've got member number envy! I thought everybody would be making member jokes by now, but maybe that's just me... (It's not the size, it's what you do with it that counts! Riiight... ;))
I really don't give a poop about my number. I will post the same bizarre stuff I always do. Now all I need to do is post some really bizarre stuff and earn me one of them titles! (Or give it to Pete so he can finally be recognized as a "lovable curmudgeon", or maybe just "old fart". But I think "old fart" is reserved for Doc. :P)

Oh, sure, some of you have low numbers, but I'm jealous of SwordAzon. Maybe not the lowest number, but definitely the most elite.

Do0d, LANDRU was more of a 'lovable curmudgeon" than Pete is (or BOSTIC, for that matter).

I actually just signed up here the other day, but you'll find my forum manners are top-notch. I've been moderating on Neoseeker (see my signature) for two years and it's about a million times bigger than this place. I'm member number 13 thousand and something and I'm considered an 'oldie' there. There's probably going on 100,000 members there now, and well over 4 million posts. No, I'm not plugging the place don't worry! My very presence here would be a contradiction of saying how great it was.
I don't really know how I ended up here but it was quite odd to see a place so quiet, where posts generally consisted of multiple paragraphs and people actually discuss things with each other. I'm not leaving the other site or anything, but it's cool to come here every now and then. :)

Locke, you've got me beat in seniority by a few months, but wasn't it Diablo Strategy Central? ;)
I think the Diablo Strategy Compendium would be Roland's site.
What was Bolty's old sig line? "No thrills, no strat, just Hal." ... No that's not quite right.

Actually, I think you're right. Am I going senile in my "old age"? Heh.
Besides, who cares whether it's DSC or (Lionskull's) LL, it's still the best. B)
The first part of the original tagline was "No frills", but I'm afraid I've forgotten the rest. <_<

"No frills, no fancy HTML, no content..."
oh wait, that was someone else's webpage =P
It might have ended with "just strategy" or "just content" but it's been so long I really can't remember anymore.
