I'm sorry but this racial trait gave the horde a glaring advantage in PvP battlegrounds. The only way to balance it without swinging the advantage back to Alliance was to reduce how long it was in effect. Otherwise they would have had to return to Forsaken being affected by paladin and priest undead abilities.

Trust me you don't want to see what five paladins working in conjunction using skills like turn undead, exorcism and holy wrath can do to a horde line in PvP.
