The general idea is not completely original. Refer to Ziffy's "Crazy Guy in the Woods" or Morwen's "Flipped Out Mage" for examples of sorcerers who go crazy and do bizarre things. Variants like this can be very fun for a while, but they usually do not appeal to many players. While you are acting wacko, it is hard to be a good coop player (or a good player at all, for that matter). When you calm it down and act normal, you aren't left with that much of a variant. In this case, it looks like it basically boils down to lower-than-usual spell levels on an arty mage that can't use stealth.
