That is what I do. I come down stairs in the cats, pick a direction, and hang to that side of the wall until I get round the circle. The dumb luck has to do with picking left or right first, in terms of time spent.
Second: Durance clockwise methodology works in all but one or two cases.
Three: In cats, if I go left first, and find the stairs quickly, I typically go right on the next level, and left on 3. I cannot prove it, but it seems that alternating scheme works more often than not, howerver, plenty of times it has not made anydifference in time of discovery.
