One thing you make a mistake on is that the contrast is not between self and logic. Its between self and the whole(self being a member of the whole). Logic is simply a tool used to compare parts of the whole.
In philosophy I really dont see much reason to agrue with you. You are an existentilalist. I only bother agruing specifics with you.
Argueing with an existentialist is argueing with a meglomaniac who has concisenciously chosen his madness.
One cant prove anythong to to an existentialist because in the end they believe trurth by definition comes from them self and not an out side source.

There is no way to answer you with out damning my self further as a megalomaniac.
Your brain is only capable of things small in scope and nature. No offense. These things will work for you. Cling tightly to them. One day, they may fail you, they may not. Do as you will.
I am a pragmatic existentialist. I am the very worst sort there is. We probably are mad. Mad enough to do things that nobody else would. The world would be a very boring place with out us though, you must agree.
I reject your ideas on a level that I can not hope for you to understand. Once again, no offense, but the view is very different up here on top of the mountain. There is a much larger view of what goes on below, one you can not possibly see or understand, and I could never explain to you. This is not megalomania, or elitism. Not at all. This is merely a simple statement of fact and not meant to be done in a degrading way.
What you must understand is that your current ideas on varying schools of thought, philosophy, logic, all these things and more, all of them apply to normal unaltered human beings. None of these apply to the few of us walking around with multiple streams of consciousness. That would be like telling a person with four arms not to use the extra two simply because it goes beyond the scope of what a normal person with two arms can do. The person with extra arms isn't better than the normal person, just different, and different standards apply. And how he applies the use of his arms is going to be noticeably different than a human that only has two.
People change. Adapt. Some people encourage their own evolution or adaptation through body modification or chemical alteration. And the world changes around them through their pressence.
Like it or not, things change. Schools of thought change. Some times, slowly, some times violently, but all things change. It is the only constant worth keeping track of. In a very short time humans went from thinking the world was flat to knowing the earth was round. People believed the heavens revolved around the earth. We now know different.
Keep an open mind. Just becuase you haven't seen with your own eyes that the earth is round so to speak, doesn't mean you can't listen to those that have. And don't pick nits here, you know what I am driving at.
All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.
And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.
"Isn't this where...."
