I have heard that a common tactic is that if you win, they go linkdead, then claim not to have seen your roll.

The only people doing /roll gambling i've ever seen were doing it in the bank/AH area of ironforge, and usually with their guldmates standing around to improve the appearance of a crowd, so that wouldn't work. (you'd have more credibility just not giving the person the cash and claiming you did; there's no way for anyone else to figure out who's lying in that case AFAIK). I've never seen anyone operating a casino with a low enough win rate that it would be profitable to screw people over, though.

I never bet at a WoW casino though; nobody was running craps.
