I don't see Xcom on your game list. It's one of my must-have picks. The Xcom series is mainly a squad level turn based tactical sim where you take the role of the earth's defenders from an alien menace.
Much of the game play is spent in combat, but to prepare for these combats there is a wealth of technology to research(after capturing it from the aliens of course), bases to build, and enemy UFOs to shoot down with your intercepters.
I have found very few games that can match the feel of Xcom's combat; when you walk around the corner of that small UFO in dead silence, the sharp report of the plasma pistol from the alien standing right on the other side of the corner raises the pulse quite nicely.
Although dated, the original Xcom: UFO defense, its clone Xcom: terror from the deep, and the newer Xcom: apocalypse are all still fun to play today. They are also available in a collector's edition for bargain bin prices as well.
