I find it interesting you have this take on it Mithrandir. Most of the reviews have been along the lines of the first Halo's reception: namely, great multiplayer, but weak, repetitive campaign play as well as a mediocre story.

I don't think swearing and kicking over a chair is a compliment to the story aspect of the Halo series. :-)
Seriously though, I have been a Bungie fan since before you guys using PCs could play their games. Yes, I am talking about their marathon series here. I am sad to say that their ability has dropped off since their acquisition by Microsoft. Not that I won't play H2, but just that I'll wait until it hits the Mac platform (estimate around 2 years).
I am glad you enjoy it though. I guess once I taste perfection (linked above), there is no going back.
