hmmm, if you want suggestions for war3 custom maps...
Arkguil tower defence, 100 towers is ok, Bob8c is better though, but a lot harder. (I'm biased, I made bob8c). The official Arks are ok.
Wintermaul. The early ones are good, as is wintermaul wars. later ones included new features, without actually rebalancing the game, and just tended to be messed up.
Enfos, excellent team game, until one team starss spamming spells, of course this might be less of a problem at a LAN party where the imminent risk of a close up view of a fist is always present
Tides of blood, another good one, but has some ugly imbalances, again, with friends at a LAN party I assume you can trut your opposition not to abuse them.
Zoator TD (first ZTD) another excellent game, not much more to be said
ZTD2, not particularly amazing, last time I played there were some glaring bugs (caused by a patch though, IIRC), the entire game to be looked at before it becomes as good as ZTD1, although I don't know if it's being developed anymore, because:
Zoator Survivor TD. Mostly very good game, more fun when people don't use 'options'
Xhero siege. Fun, although the enemy count suddenly jumps 20 minutes in which is ugly without a mega computer (i.e. with my computer)
Night Of The Dead, should make a great LAN party game as the lag won't be very high. You need good reflexes, the ability to see in the dark and preferably a high resolution - would benefit greatly from voice communication, which you have available at a LAN party ;-)
DOTA, I think someone mentioned this. Allstars could be fun with friends over a LAN to help reduce the imbalance abuse, otherwise go for a DX or EX version.
10way TD, I can't get passed level5, mostly due to the quality of my teammates, might be easier if you're all in the same room.
BTW, were you playing Azure TD?
