I played Dungeon Siege for 5 minutes before I began to dislike it. It seemed to me like Diablo, with better graphics, minus all that pesky fun and atmosphere. Sure, it wasn't a "clickfest", but it didn't seem to need me at all.
I continued to play for a couple days to try to give it a chance, and because my friends were playing it. The only thing I enjoyed about the game was what we referred to as the "Barbie Fashion Designer" aspect-- getting new stuff and seeing how cool it looked.
I don't remember much about the game system (mainly because there isn't much to remember), but I do remember that hybrids were indeed horribly crippled in the mid game. I seem to remember melee damage resistance or avoidance being based off of melee skill or something, which resulted in melee/x hybrids being torn apart since the game was balanced assuming you were a specialist. Perhaps it was just the whole "you need x strength to wear y armor" bit that caused this, though.
I don't remember exactly, just that when we tried hybrids, they were pretty bad in the mid game.
