The upside? BIS still hasn't announced Jefferson or released the new engine which Feargus and Sawyer can't stop raving about.
Lionheart is maturing very well.
Am I sad that BIS still isn't doing a Fallout 3 RPG? Sure, but this Fallout game isn't being created by BIS anyways - and how many years running has BIS been the only profitable division within Interplay? Many. It probably will stink whether it is a shooter or an RPG (and a stinky RPG would be even worse, because then you would have spent money to try it out, whereas you probably won't for the shooter ;) ).
So, be content with Lionheart and Jefferson for your source of lovable BIS goodness.

I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
