Despite not being a PvP-orientated player, I like this idea.
Besides, we really need more regular events other than the Darkmoon Faire (Which needs more love) and the Stranglethorn You'll-Never-Get-To-Compete-In-This-Fishing Extravaganza.
Now let's hope they make it just a tad more accessible than the Extravaganza too. Tired of being muscled out by an aggressive PvP guild who wants to make sure one of their members win it during the once-in-a-blue-moon opportunities that I can actually compete.
Edit:
Edit, redux:
First thoughts: Sweeeeeeeeet.
Second thoughts: Hang on, if the two-second arming time still stands on the trap then this is hardly a ground-shaking talent; especially for t9. Two seconds is, as any hunter knows, more than enough time for a non-crippled target to move out of range of the trap. This also makes it generally useless for PvE against moving targets (Fire a Freezing Arrow at someone's feet when they're running. Go on, try it. Enjoy the waste of a GCD).
Third thoughts: Ghetto Freezing Arrow, fo' shizzle.
Edit 3, Revenge of the Edit: And after those thoughts, another popped in my mind. LnL procs without trap dancing. Also dumping snake, explosive, and immo traps on the tank's target. It's all good.</strike>
Edit Part 4, This Time It's Editable: Disregard that. Trap Launcher is being dropped, Black Arrow (Increase the hunter's damage on target by 60%, shadow DoT) is going in. LnL is also being reworked to not proc of Serpent Sting, but is being worked to proc off of Black Arrow. Basically, switch your Serpent Sting from your action bar and replace it with Black Arrow. Or keep both for two DoTs.

Edit:
Quote:All Ground Mounts may now swim without dismounting the rider. Flying Mounts still may NOT, and will dismount the rider upon entering water. Now am I wrong in thinking that it has been impossible since 3.x for flying mounts to enter water (Hence all those whacky screenshots of drakes flapping headfirst into water just off the coast of the Howling Fjord)? Or am I just picky for, of all the patchnote changes, noticing this one in particular?
Edit, redux:

SURVIVAL
New Talent: Trap Launcher: When activated, your next Trap will be launched instantly at the enemy target. 1 minute cooldown.</strike>

When beset by doubt,
Run in little circles,
Wave your arms and shout.
