The Scare Beast change is lunacy, sheer lunacy: For one thing, it hardly ever managed to last the full allowable duration in PvP (My findings, and those of others, say that it breaks after about five seconds or so). It only works against Feral Druids and other Hunter pets, has a pitiful range, a casting time, a high resist rate, is interruptable, and Druids can simply shift in an out of their animal form to break it. Unless the Druid you were fighting was clueless, SB was pretty much a waste of precious time to use.
Freezing Trap change... Our only viable, reliable form of CC and even then it was still prone to massive and fatal failures, and now they've nerfed it again. The trinket change was painful enough. Other classes can chain fear or CC, but for a Hunter to do so required speccing in the Survival and gearing specifically for lower trap refresh CDs.
