Another combined fit and pretty athlete is the young lady from the Netherlands who won the 1000m or 2000m (I forget which) speed skating.  She posted a hot time and let the rest take a run at it.  (Canada silver and Germany bronze.)  We watched all of the races rather by accident.

After a little bit of Google-Fu, her name was Marianne Timmer and she competed in the 1000m Speed Skate. She won by 4/100th's of a second.

Then came the post race interview with the gold medal winner. 

The moron interviewer from NBC was pouring leading questions all over the ice.  In 30 seconds, I was so disgusted that I turned off the TV, having seen the young lady handle this idiot with grace and patience.  She's an all star in my book.

Exporting stupidity, NBC's trademark.

I second that sentiment. I felt even the NBC interview of Lindsey Jacobellis crossed a line. I too turned off the television, after watching them practically bring her to tears. I'm sure the opinions over Lindsey Jacobellis differ on the lounge, but I still feel at the end of the day it was wrong of NBC to lay her out on national television.
