BRD This Week
#1
Hello all,

Galreth is at a point now where his quest log is dominated by quests in Blackrock Depths. He has only been in there once and didn't get too much accomplished by way of questing. To this end I was wondering if some people might be interested in making a run in BRD Wed. and/or Fri. night. I was thinking of starting around 7:30 server time but I am flexible. Most of the crop of players that Sabra talked about in her post are now old enough to start on BRD so I think it would be great if some of them wanted to come along as well. If we get enough interest we can even have two groups or mix and match groups between the two days based on peoples' availability.

BRD is an instance that you must enter multiple times to complete all of its quests. These runs are going to be aimed at the beginning quests so if people want to do something like Jail Break! they shouldn't expect that to be a part of these runs.

If you are interested I would also suggest working on two prequest lines. First of all there is a quest named Dragonkin Menace that you get in Burning Steppes that starts the long chain for your Onyxia key. Any interested parties should try to get this quest line up to the point where they have to talk to Marshal Windsor. The other is a quest line in Searing Gorge that starts with collection golem oil and hearts of flame. When you complete this line you get a dragon molt that then has to be taken to a cave in the northeast of the Burning Steppes and then you will get a quest that involves killing Bael'Gar. This line is not as important as we might not be killing Bael'Gar based on time constraints. I unfortunately will not really be around before Wed. to help people out with these quests as I am at home right now.

So, who is interested? I think this could be a great chance to start getting our approaching 60s closer to the end game. It could also be a chance for some of our established 60s to help out. Either (or both) nights could work and with my experience from running this instance many times with Flyn I could serve as somewhat of a tour guide along the way. If people could state any interest and which night(s) they can come that would be great. Thanks guys.

My start time is usually 8:30 server so if any groups would like to or need to go later they can have a half-assed paladin offtank join them. I'm also thinking about going tonite to drop off the love potion and escort Windsor to advance my Onyxia quests.

Myself and Fellwynd will probably be running BRD sometime this week. As far as I know it was set up to be us two, Gebo, Rothgar, and whoever else we could pickup.

We'll probably be working on the prequests over the next day or two.

What's weird about this is all the assimilated who did BRD already did that quest without finishing the supposed pre-req quest line. In fact, Alarick was planning on helping myself and Fellwynd on those quests. He claimed you could just talk to the dragon in Burning Steppes to get the quest. Allakhazam claims that you are correct about the pre-req, but it might be worth stopping up and checking if it can be done without the other quest. The info on Allakhazam might be out of date.

I wouldn't recommend trying to do both in the same sitting. Escorting Windsor requires a full clear of the central hub and northern ring and a little over half of the southern. It's pretty time-consuming. One can make the bar run and then return without having to be concerned with respawn, of course, but trying to do both in one night can get up over three hours.

And if you manage to get Windsor killed on the escort after all that time in the dungeon, you will be annoyed enough to kick puppies and eat babies. It's best to just do the escort as a sole objective.

Ah. Then if I can scrape up folks I will be doing whichever one the most folks want to do. :)

hey Raelynn and Fellow Lurkers,

Fellwynd and I spoke this morning and we though we could run a BRD Tuesday night, if both of you and others in the guild can get the true master series up to Marshall Windsor we could get that part of the series done that night. If there are others that need to go on this quest, roth and I can step out so they can finish this part of the quest line. We already finished the series. But either way, Roth and I offer our time to help out the 50's get through the marshall windsor quest line. To see the path of the series check out

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/qlookup.html?zone=29

I'm not sure if you can speak to the dragon to get the quest (from thread below) but ultimately you want to be up to Marshall Windsor in the quest series to continue the line when you enter BRD and we will help Tuesday night. We can be ready to go by 6:30-7:00 pm for anyone that's interested. Let me know.

See you in the game and as always Happy Gaming

OMG! OMG! An instance run that doesn't start after 9:00 PM on weeknights or during the morning/afternoon on weekends, when I can't go?

Sign me up! It's about time!*

Note: I can attend only if we truly get started at 7:30. That means that only getting 3 of 5 members online at 7:30, finally getting all 5 on at 8:00, and not actually entering the instance with everyone ready until 8:45 PM is ***out*** for me. This is because abandoning groups midway through an instance is something I do *NOT* do, and I may wind up being forced to do that if the run starts that late. My Real Life™ committments have been very high since early March, preventing long instance runs on weeknights and any activity during weekends except at night.

*If a healer is required. I've got a few quests left in BRD, but the major ones like the Emperor I've done already.

I'm seriously considering ditching Leatherowrking and Skinning for Mining and Engineering (see aother post), and would appreciate it if someone while down int eh depths would get me the Jumper Cables XL schematic from Plugger Spazzring.

I am interested in starting in BRD. Wed is out for me, as i work until late, and am up early to work the next day, so it'd have to Friday night. I currently have no plans, so I can make it for that.

I've got no quests, but I'll be on at random times over this week. If you need another spot to fill, bug me while I'm on :)

We probably need to setup multiple groups to go in there. Lissanna has all the quests, but I need to take to Windsor (and the Dwarf for fate of the kingdom) to get on to the getting the info from the General and the Golemlord. Anyone interested in making a quick foray into the prison either tonight or tomorrow to clear out Windsor and his info?

To quote from Skan's who needs what thread:
Quote:BRD
- return marshal windsor's info (have the pieces)
- get an encased fiery essence
- kill emperor dagran
It doesn't look like any of that fits into what is being discussed, but Lochnar is usually available to help from evening on. He can make humanoids say bahhh and, if a snowball fight breaks out, he makes the good hard ones with a piece of icicle in the middle. He isn't, however, much of a tour guide. He's more of a "OK I think I remember this place" kinda guy.

Both Mishy 58 Hunter (girlfriend's character) and Mishian 55 Warrior (my character) (who are both on different accounts btw) are very interested in BRD.

Both have done 'the true masters' line of quest up to the BRD portion, and also the Bael'Gar portion up to BRD.

A Friday start time is best for us, as Friday night translates to Saturday Day in Australia.

Ok, from what I have seen so far it looks like both Wed. and Fri. will be a good idea. Due to Bolty's schedule let's aim to get started at 7PM on Wed. From responses so far it looks like we would have:

Galreth
Boltress
Lissanna?
Lochnar
Ramala

Ramala has simply offered his services to help so if anyone else needs to get some quests done I'm sure they could jump in to that spot.

Friday seemed a bit more popular for a few people. It seems to me that it might even be possible to send in two groups on Friday. So far I see:

Galreth
Mirajj
Lissanna
Lochnar
Mishy
Mishian
Ramala

And depending on times:
Boltress (before 7:30)
Sharanna (after 8:30)

With one or two more people we could probably set up an earlier and a later run. This instance will require multiple runs for people who need most of the quests but we'll try to get as much done in the time we have. If anyone else has interest in these runs feel free to reply here and we can continue to set stuff up.

Gnolack is only 56 and only has 2 of the quests so far, but I've been thinking about at least getting a look see into BRD and if I can accomplish some stuff while doing it that is cool. This post is not speaking for Treesh either so for once we may have a Gnolack without an Aleri. I'm a bit more focused on Gnolack right now and I don't know if Treesh is or can sustain that kind of focus on Aleri.

I should be around both Wednesday and Friday night. I would need to be in a patient group that could deal with me rubber necking and thinking a lot about the pulls and set up and trying to learn where I'm at and how to navigate the place (I needed a few trips into ST to be able to figure that out). So right now this is more for a discovery experience for him, though I might do that tonight as well, don't know. But anyway, I'm letting you know up front that if this is a mission quest focused thing (which is cool, I'll being doing that with ST sometime soon and probably maruardon too to get some stuff done for people) that I'm probably not the best choice. I'm also pretty sure I'm not going to be capable of doing some of the content at this level from what I have heard as well.

I'm in the same boat as GG, basically. I don't have any quests for BRD right now (Still trying to get the other instances off my logs, so I've been leary of accepting NEW instance quests) but I'd be more than happy to go for the looksee/experience.

That said...my gf, while coming in to her own as a gamer, is still a bit of a social butterfly at heart, and has been known to schedule offline things for "us" to attend, without "me" knowing about it. ;) That, combined with my work schedule, can put a monkey wrench into things. Thankfully, she also understands about needing to be in a group to do things later in the game...but there's been several cases of that, lately, and she might not be so understanding... ;)

I will try to be around on Friday. I may not have any quests to actually do anything, but I can contribute DPS and tracking if needed. ;)

For those of you concerned with having quests there is no real reason to be. With the exception of the two chains I talked about almost every quest is just a pickup in the Burning Steppes. The effort to pick them up is minimal.

I also realized that there is another quest you should do ahead of time. King Magni in IF will give you a quest to go retrieve some "information" from the Ruins of Thaurissan once you hit level 50. When you complete this quest (it is very easy to do and can even be done without killing a single mob if you are careful/willing to run away a bit) one of the other NPCs in with the king will give you a quest to find Kharan in BRD. This is one of the easiest quests to complete in BRD.

I'd also like to reiterate that we are intentionally doing the early quests in BRD. There is exactly zero chance that we will get far enough along to do things like kill the emperor. I really do encourage the upcoming people to get involved. I am not going to be in any rush to push people through and I don't think anyone else will be either. We will get done what can be done in the time we have.

I'd like to escort Windsor this Thursday if at all possible. I've even gotten special permission to start gaming earlier in the evening to help out with this. Anyone available or willing to help me?

CLEAR THE WHOLE PRISON? YEP!

I should be home around 7:30 server time if that works. 7:40 if Hykim falls in the lava.
At first I thought, "Mind control satellites? No way!" But now I can't remember how we lived without them.
