Well.. I have just registered to this messageboard.. And on previous messageboards I have been a part of, It is generally routine to make a post to introduce yourself, I apologize if that is not a practice accepted here.
I'v been playing Diablo II since the end of the 1.08 LOD patch, Actually 3 days before 1.09 final was released, but I have been on battle.net for several years before that, playing Warcraft II mostly, under the name CowWithHerpes.
I listed my accounts in that box when I registered, but I am not sure where or if they show up, so my accounts are ~Lord``CoW~ CowWithHerpes and rEnIeW. all on UsWest. Message me sometime if you need assistance =)
I don't really want to bore anyone with my long sad history of gaming, so I will leave it at this.
"Hi everyone, I'm new here."
Or if you prefer.. to speak in diablo terms
"HAI I WUZ JUST HAX0RD GIB ME SOJ PLEEZ"

Later,
Cow

Hail, Lord Cow!

Welcome to the Lurkerlounge. As you'll read more posts and threads, you'll come to the realisation that this board is unlike any other. You mentioned one example; if everyone who registered were to post a "Hi, I'm new here"-thread, we'd be swamped with them during the next few weeks, especially now when the World of Warcraft-forum is up.

Please make sure you read the forum rules as well as the lurker etiquette before continuing.

Have a good time and welcome again!

Rule 7: No Poofters!

That concludes the readin' of the rules!

*sound effect of bottles being opened*

Question for Lord Cow:

What are the gentlemen drinking as the above bit of witty repartee is being spoken, and what department of what university is the meeting ostensibly being held by? What is everyone's name, besides Michael?

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy begger
who could drink you under the table ...
At first I thought, "Mind control satellites? No way!" But now I can't remember how we lived without them.

David Hume could out-consume
Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel,

Welcome!
All alone, or in twos,
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down outside the wall.
Some hand in hand
And some gathered together in bands.
The bleeding hearts and artists
Make their stand.

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy
Banging your heart against some mad buggers wall.

"Isn't this where...."

EDIT: To be read in a rolling iamb a la 'Jack and Jill' ;)

Jacques Cousteau met
Jacques Rousseau
To table his general will.

JC proclaimed
"It's a dangerous trade!
But I love every thrill!"

All night they worked
Distributing perks
To loved ones far and near

When all of a sudden,
Arriving at "cousins"
Thirst struck and JC 'nounced clear

"To Davey Jones
I'd gladly go
For just one pint of beer..."

JJ complied,
But suddenly died!
His Guiness held so dear.

JC perused
His final news
To see just what it tabled

"What th'ell means this?"
He shook his fist
"My will's inseparable?"

HAHAHA It has balance issues. :)
But whate'er I be,
Nor I, nor any man that is,
With nothing shall be pleased till he be eased
With being nothing.

Wasn't Heidegger the guy who could "think" you under the table?

" David Hume could out-consume
Schopenhaur and Hegel"

followed by

"And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as sloshed as Schlegel!"

For extra credit: what was Socrates? Little pieces of wood that you put a soccer ball onto before a free kick?

Just because I happened to have it on my harddrive:

Quote:The Philosopher's Song

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable

Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table

David Hume could out consume
Schopenhauer and Hegel

And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel

There's nothing Nietzsche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist
Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill

Plato they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle
Hobbes was fond of his dram
And René Descartes was a drunken fart
"I drink, therefore I am"

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed
A lovely little thinker
But a bugger when he's pissed

Terribly sorry - I won't let it 'appen agin. ;) :D

In my favor is the fact that I bought the Matching Tie and Handkercheif album when it came out, 1974 IIRC, and have been singing that song from memory for ages. The Internet is what taught me how many words I got wrong.

Or as Jimi Hendrix said:

'scuse me, while I kiss this guy . . .
