Uniques in Hellfire: RoE and AoG? - Attika - 06-14-2004 According to Jarulf's Guide the Ring of Engagement (RoE) should drop quite frequently in Hellfire (in Normal games once every four games from dlevel 15 as stated at 3.11.2 Probabilities in Hellfire). Yet wasn't there discussion in the now defunct DSF where it was determined that it was impossible for the RoE to drop in Hellfire due to the introduction of new rings? Also, I've seen on Henjo's Item Importer for Hellfire Uniques a Unique armor called the Armor of Gloom. Henjo states he found it playing Hellfire. Yet according to Jarulf's Guide (same spot) it is impossible for the Armor of Gloom to drop in any difficulty game. My questions would be: Can the RoE drop in either Single Player or Multiplayer (Kali) Hellfire? and Can the Armor of Gloom drop in either Single Player or Multiplayer Hellfire? JG is incomplete on that issue. When game scans for a unique ring to drop, it examines the following list, which indicates unique position: Code: Bramble - qlvl 1 However, it reads the list backwards. The first applicable ring it finds, it drops. It does not matter what the qlvl is so long as the mlvl is high enough to drop the qlvl. So, suppose a mlvl 11 monster drops a unique ring. What's the first eligible ring on the list? Gladiator's Ring, because it's qlvl 10. The game doesn't even look at the others. It's already found an elgibile ring. That's why RoE can't drop in MP. In SP, the game keeps track of unique drops to avoid dropping the same unique twice. So, suppose another monster > mlvl 10 drops a unique ring. Gladiator's Ring has already dropped. What drops? Ring of Thunder. Ring of Mystics. Ring of Magma. Karik's Ring. Xorine's Ring. Mercurial Ring. Giant's Knuckle. Then RoE. So, for best "odds" of finding RoE in HF SP, kill all mlvl 8 monsters first. (They can't drop RoE anyway, but if they drop a qlvl 8 ring it's one less ring you have to find from monsters that can drop RoE.) Then go after the higher level stuff. Unfortunately, I can't say for certain whether RoE will morph in the next game even if you do manage to get the necessary 9 unique ring drops in one game. I know that uniques of the same base with the same qlvl will morph. (e.g. SP Infernos will morph into Diamondedges in the next new game.) Here's the full list: Code: 8cb00 - The Butcher's Cleaver Quote:Also, I've seen on Henjo's Item Importer for Hellfire Uniques a Unique armor called the Armor of Gloom. Well, let's consult the list. 8e498 - Demonspike Coat -- qlvl 25 8ebd0 - Armor of Gloom -- qlvl 25 8ee1c - Demon Plate Armor -- qlvl 25 If unique FPM drops, DPA drops first. In MP, DPA is the only one that drops. In SP, AoG drops if a second unique FPM drops in the same game. Then DSC. However, because they all have the same qlvls, AoG and DSC will morph in the next new game. -Lemmy Uniques in Hellfire: RoE and AoG? - LemmingofGlory - 06-15-2004 Quote:War Hammers Schaefer's, Grandfather, and Warding do not drop in MP HF because a unique of lower qlvl and the same base type exists on the list somewhere ahead of it. -Lem |
