Avenger Equipment

Ok, I'm making an Avenger Paladin (wanted something hell viable, but not something built often) and was wondering what gear I should use? (I know HoZ is a given, but I have no clue on the other items.) I know what skills I need, and where to put my stats, just not what gear I need. Any help is appreciated! I have a clvl-88 Conviction Avenger in SP, who has benefitted from
the generosity of my other characters and the ATMA utility.

He wears Guardian Angel excep armor, which is great for many Paladin
builds and gives him 95% resistance to fire/coldghtning and 90% to poison.
With Ravenfrost and Dwarf Star rings, and Thundergod's Vigor belt,
he has Absorb to all three elements as well, making him nearly tri-immune.
He wears a perfect Mara's Kaleidescope, War Travs boots, and upgraded
Bloodfist gloves for the life and +5 min damage. He wears a Stealskull helm
socketed with a +15% IAS jewel (borrowed from my Strafeazon) for the
+25% IAS and especially the dual life/mana steal. You are correct that it
is tough to beat Herald of Zakarum as a shield, and fortunately he has one.

Many different weapon choices are good. I'd like a Kingslayer runeblade,
but I can't afford one. If you're rich, you could wield Death Cleaver,
an upgraded Butcher's Pupil (I did for a while), Azurewrath, Baranar's Star,
or any of the elite scepters. You might also want to try Imbuing a few elite
scepters and hope you get lucky.

Currently he wields an imbued ethereal crystal sword that I upgraded to phase
blade, giving him a wicked fast 8-frame Vengeance, high damage, and
indestructibility on his weapon. His Act III cold merc freezes nearly everything,
giving him time to kill the monsters one at a time. I've tried borrowing the
Death runeword ettin axe that my Fanatic Zealot uses for Uber runs, but it's jus too slow.
