How does this sound?

Woe! Canada!
You're hockey team laid an egg.
At all the refs --
Your captains tried to beg.

You slog down the ice, with bricks in your breezers
You play seives in net, why not start Gerry Cheevers?
Woe, Canada, your team is slow, it's true.

World teams are fleet. Yours skate like on concrete.
Woe Canada, now go and cry, Boo - Hoo

Woe, Canada, there'll be no medal for you........

:P

Oh say can you see
That was goal number three
That went in to our net
And we haven't scored ye-et

While we skate on old knees
Feel a winger's cool breeze
As he breaks away clean
Man, our goalie looks gre-en

Then we get shots on goal
Hit the post, not the hole
Fore check, then offside
Facing off, passing wide

Oh say did that buzzer
Go off one more ti-ime?
While the others were ahead?
We lost, but, we can rhyme.

Best I could do on short notice

Not bad, Occhi.

For the last stanza, how about:

O, say does that leather-palm'd mitt of DiPietro still wa-ave?
As the pucks whiz on past, and Brooks spins in his grave?

I think it scans better this way:

Oh see those leather palmed mitts of DiPietro still wa-ave
As the pucks go whizzing past, and Brooks spins in his grave.

Better than my closing phrase. *WoW bow emote*
